Where do I pay my application fee?
Students can pay the online application fee through CashNet, powered by Higher One. Credit card and electronic check transactions only are accepted online. To pay this fee, you must:
- Apply online.
- Visit CashNet using the link above.
- Select “ONLINE Student Application Fee.”
- Click “Add to Basket.”
- Select “Checkout.”
- Fill out the form with your information.
- Click on the “Continue Checkout” button.
- Select your preferred payment method.
- Enter your payment information.
- Click “Continue Checkout.”
- Confirm your information.

Why do I pay a tech fee?
The tech fee pays for information technology (IT) support. Visit the Office of Information Technology page for full details on support available to Shorter students.
What does the graduation fee include?
The graduation fee covers your cap and gown, diploma, diploma cover and other ceremony expenses. Whether or not you attend the ceremony, you must pay the graduation fee. You will not receive your diploma if you do not pay the fee.
Students can pay this fee through SCHOLAR by taking the following steps:
- Log in using your Shorter ID and password.
- Select the “Pay My Account” tab.
- Select “Click here to pay your account online” in the middle of the page.
- Select “Click here to make payment” under “Current Balance.”
- Choose “Online student payment.”
- Enter $150 in the amount field along with your name and student ID number.
- Enter “graduation fee” in the memo field.
Students who prefer to mail their graduation fee payment can send a check or money order to:

Be sure to include your student ID number on the check and write “graduation fee” on the memo line.
